Relaunch of Heat Pump Water Heaters on SJVCEO's Spotify!

Last October, the SJVCEO launched our monthly Spotify playlist covering (of course) heat pump hot water heaters! In honor of #WoohooWaterHeater season, we want to bring this playlist back around so y’all can give it a listen by clicking below!

Interviewer: “So, what’s a heat pump hot water heater?”

Interviewee: [Pauses, looks a bit confused] “It’s just a water heater.”

Oh, the humble heat pump water heater (HPWH), once a novelty for the very early adopters is now the hero of electrification, and just celebrated its very first “day” on October 26th.  #Heatpumpitup asked the world to share their love stories, insights on energy and carbon savings, cost information and so much more to build the community and celebrate this quiet, but powerful banner carrier for building electrification.

HPWH’s are up to four times more efficient than standard models and use 70% less energy too.  At the SJVCEO we’re working with our PG&E public sector companion program, GK12 from Willdan, to install as many HPWH’s as we can this year, at little to no cost. (Spoiler: they’re almost all free right now). We’re also excited to help our Valley commercial customers in SCE territory access this technology for their facilities too!  The Willdan Commercial Energy Efficiency Program (CEEP) offers a turnkey option installing HPWHs for qualified SCE customers for $0. Courtney’s Picks:
Who hasn’t found themselves in a bit of hot water? Well, clearly the other members of team SJVCEO, but for the rest of us trouble is always right around the corner.  Whether it’s being shot down in your plane after being mistaken for a smuggler, repeatedly running your car into your cocaine dealer, or any number of questionable romantic choices the chance for trouble is there. The trick is how to get out of it—or as I’ve learned with age, how to stay out of it to start with.

“I don’t go looking for trouble, but I don’t turn it down.”—D. Watkins, author

You Know I’m No Good,
Amy Winehouse
I Heard it Through the Grapevine, Marvin Gaye

Samantha’s Picks:
My songs reflect an array of troubles to be had--but to be clear, troubles I have not been guilty of getting into! I am sure as you listen you will feel the same but also dance or sing along since of course you know the lyrics.

Hot in Here, Nelly
Don’t Blame Me, Taylor Swift
Locked Up, Akon
Unholy, Sam Smith

Kelsey’s Picks
As a habitual rule follower (most of the time), situations of getting into any sort of “hot water” are few and far between. In fact, I was only grounded one time through the duration of my childhood and teenage years (you’re welcome mom and dad). Even though my mischievous ventures are not common, HPHWH are! They are all the rage in our energy world today, so be sure to read more about them above and install one or 10!

Troublemaker, Olly Murs and Flo Rida
99 Problems, JAY-Z
So What, P!nk
Runnin’ with the Devil, Van Halen

Rochelle’s Picks:
If you haven’t gotten the memo yet, hot water heaters are the “hot” ticket item right now! They are the next step on our journey to building electrification and certainly something we don’t mind getting into a bit of hot water for…

Beat It, Michael Jackson
Life, K-Ci & JoJo Life
Devil’s Pie, D'Angelo
Other Side of the Game, Erykah Badu
