SoCalREN in Action: SJVCEO's September Update

SJVCEO is proud to bring energy efficiency resources directly to the communities we serve across the San Joaquin Valley and High Desert through SoCalREN programs and offerings. Here's a look at what's happening this quarter across three of SoCalREN's key programs: Agriculture, Workforce, and Commercial.

Agriculture

SoCalREN's agricultural program can help Valley farmers cut energy costs on equipment like irrigation pumps, cold storage, and processing systems while improving operational yield and working conditions on the farm. Our team will assess your operation, recommend energy-efficient upgrades suited to your operation and equipment, and help you access available incentives. Contact us for a free energy assessment to see what's possible for your farm.

Benefits

Participating farms see real, lasting improvements across their operations. Energy-efficient upgrades reduce overhead and day-to-day operating costs, freeing up resources that can be reinvested in the farm. Many operations also see increased production and profits as new equipment runs more reliably and efficiently. Beyond the bottom line, upgrades like improved ventilation and climate control systems can enhance comfort for both employees and livestock, while newer, well-maintained equipment means less downtime and lower maintenance costs over time.

Workforce

Mark your calendars all! The 2026 Future Green Leaders Summit is coming to the Valley this October, and SJVCEO will be in attendance! This event, hosted by SoCalREN, brings together local middle school students from Tulare, Kings, and Kern Counties for a day of hands-on learning about energy efficiency and sustainability careers, and we couldn't be more excited to help bring an event like this to Tulare.

SoCalREN is looking for volunteers to help the day run smoothly: guiding students between activities, supporting exhibitor booths, and helping create a fun, hands-on experience that gets kids curious about green careers. SoCalREN is also looking for exhibitors to table at the event, sharing hands-on activities and resources that help educate students on energy efficiency. Bring an interactive activity, demo, or kid-friendly material if exhibiting, hands-on beats handouts!

 How to Participate

  • Sign up to volunteer or exhibit at the Resource & Demonstration Fair

  • Show up October 15 ready to inspire the next generation of energy leaders!

Commercial

Across the Valley and High Desert, local businesses are the backbone of their communities and making sure they have access to resources that help them thrive is at the heart of the SoCalREN Commercial program. This year, we've seen that show up in a real way: 18 projects installed and another 28 on the way, meaning more small business owners across our region are getting the support they deserve to lower costs and reinvest in what matters most: their staff, their customers, and their communities.

Businesses in the following cities have participated:

  • High Desert: Adelanto, Barstow

  • San Joaquin Valley: Visalia, Farmersville, Porterville, Tulare, Buttonwillow, Bakersfield

From Adelanto to Bakersfield, this program is proof that when you bring the right resources to the Valley and High Desert, local businesses show up. We're proud to help make that connection, and we're excited to keep growing this momentum with more communities across our territory
