Through hands-on, real-time collaboration between VVWRA staff and the SoCalREN team, 73 energy efficiency opportunities were uncovered, creating a roadmap to lower operational costs, reduce energy use, and reinvest savings back into the community's critical infrastructure.

 Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN) is offering incentives for HVAC equipment through the Streamlined Savings Pathway Program. Public agencies can take advantage of these incentives, which will help you streamline your operations and maintenance while saving energy and money.

Through SoCalREN, agencies served by Southern California Edison can upgrade their gas water heaters to electric heat pump water heaters.  Overall, heat pump hot water heaters save energy by leveraging the principle of heat transfer, which is inherently more efficient than generating heat directly!

Sports field lighting can be a high monthly utility cost as many fields still have HID (High-Intensity Discharge), specifically Metal Halide lights. Many public agencies would like to switch out their older lights for new LEDs, but there is an upfront cost barrier. 

We continue to say each year that lighting is not dead. Well, here we go again! Interior and exterior Lighting is being included in this year's SoCalREN cash incentive options.  LED lighting has become increasingly popular in public agency facilities and for good reasons.
