In just a few short days it will officially be 2022! Although New Year’s is coming up, we still have a few weeks of winter weather ahead of us. As such, we must remember the importance of the little things we do to reduce energy use.

The SJVCEO was recently introduced to a new program opportunity that we wanted to share with you all. Packetized Energy’s program, “Get Nimble Cali”, was recently launched and is here to offer services and assistance to California residents! This CEC EPIC-funded pilot’s goal is to sign-up residential customers throughout all of CA's three big IOU service territories (including nested CCA territories) and deploy thousands of connected, smart energy devices such as free smart thermostats and smart plugs.

We have been talking about big data, intelligence, and energy efficiency for quite a long time. These industries have been dancing around each other for much of the last couple decades however, in recent years, they have really converged in a meaningful way.

So, why are we talking about heat transfer? Why is this important? It is important to understand how heat is transferred to understand many aspects of energy efficiency.

It appears to be a new trend for companies to take products that we use on a daily basis and recreate them in such a way that they generate electricity. Two products that fall into this category are wood floors and tires.

We depend on trees to clean the air, regulate the temperature, as well as a host of other things. As amazing and vital to our ecosystem as they are, they can’t produce sustainable energy. However, 3D printed trees can!
